Six students in North Seattle Community College's Fall quarter Radio and Audio class were set to task, creating new and engaging programing for Rainier Radio.

They turned the vague concept of social media storytelling into a concrete result.?? Entitling their streaming media project "Voices and Voyages," the participants worked on campus with media managers, faculty members, and current students in arranging, gathering, selecting, recording, post-producing, and evaluating their student peers' oral narratives.? The stories are about coming to, working through and moving on from North Seattle CC and other community colleges. ?Each of the eight individual stories and one family story (about three cousins from Tibet and the traditional song they sang for the Dalai Lama when he was here in Seattle last year) will soon be posted on a soon to be redesigned Rainier Radio Web site.

These nine carefully crafted narratives eloquently illustrate the power of human storytelling, the profound importance of community colleges, and the cooperation and intelligence of the six students who completed this engaging aural project: ?Jaeson Albritton, Baldwin Browne, Gloria Gronka, Bhuti Passang, Pat Poplin, and Sandra Swartz.? These stories are posted below and will soon be available on the updated Rainier Radio site.
